Labor Day weekend. The last hurrah of the summer and a prequel to the upcoming Holiday season. Many Americans have planned getaways, barbecues or simply a nice long weekend. Having worked countless years on Labor Day, it never really meant a whole lot to me, other than extra business. I recently revisited the history of the holiday and found it interesting how we can easily forget the origins and meaning of holidays we celebrate without really knowing why we actually celebrate. The link below reminds us there is something amazingly patriotic about the quintessential American worker.
